Who am I?

Researcher since the first september 2005, I'm specialising in the bioinformatic field and in supervised learning
I'm a member of the bioinformatic team in the Systems and Modeling research unit (see also Louis Wehenkel's home page)

I designed PREDetector, which is a software used to detect the regulatory areas of bacterias, and I improved Patrocles, a website allowing to analyze the genetic mutations affecting the mechanism of regulation by miRNA (whether it affects the target, the host gene of the miRNA or the machinery of regulation)

My thesis relates to the improvement of the Ranking by Pairwise Comparison (RPC) technique. With this technique, one is confronted to a computational complexity of order N², and my goal is to reduce this complexity to an order N, by selecting the most optimal possible subset of N base classifiers, while preserving an acceptable reliability of ranking.

My accomplishments as a researcher

Patrocles

Patrocles

This website analyzes the genetic mutations affecting the regulation by miRNA in the eukaryotes.
Only some species are currently considered, but new species are added regularly.

Xavier Tordoir designed the first version of this site
Denis Baurain continues the development

For more information, consult the web page dedicated to this work
PREDetector

Predetector

This program allows to dertermine which genes are regulated by the cis sequences (adn)
given in argument for the chosen bacteria.

My accomplishments as a student

Rush Hour

Rush Hour

My final dissertation was about the exhaustive search of all possible configurations
for the Rush Hour puzzle game.
