What happens when you request a web page on your browser? How can you distribute an application? How can we achieve confidentiality? These questions, and many more, are my main topic of interest.
Could human mind be mapped into a computer? We're far from being able to achieve this, but computers get smarter everyday and can learn from their environment, analyze the data and even take decisions without the help of human assistance.
Biologists have accomplished wonders in the field of DNA sampling, but data gets produced faster than can manually be analyzed. Bioinformatics tackles this problem by enabling the computational power of computers to drastically speed up the analysis process at low cost.
It is hard to narrow itself to a list of disciplins. I have interest in various fields, with some skills to a certain extend, although without being an "expert" in those fields. To quote only few of them, let's say : Mathematics, Quantum physics, Astronomy and Computer science in general.

Researcher since September, 1st, 2005, I started specialising in the bioinformatics field and in supervised learning.
I was a member of the bioinformatics team in the Systems and Modeling research unit where I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Center for Protein Engineering and the Unit of Animal Genomics.
During that period, I designed PREDetector: a software used to detect the regulatory areas of bacterias, and I improved Patrocles: a website designed to analyze the genetic mutations affecting the mechanism of regulation by miRNA (whether it affects the target, the host gene of the miRNA or the machinery of regulation).
My thesis relates to the improvement of the Ranking by Pairwise Comparison (RPC) technique. With this technique, one is confronted to a computational complexity of order N², and my goal is to reduce this complexity to an order N, by selecting the most optimal possible subset of N base classifiers, while preserving an acceptable reliability of ranking.
Since September, 30th, 2013, I was promoted to adjunct lecturer ("Chargé de cours adjoint"). Currently, my main topic of interest is computer networks, and I teach how to distribute an application, and how to apply security at various levels, to students from the Hénallux college ("Haute école") in the context of a co-diplomation between the latter, UNamur, and ULg.
This software determines which genes are regulated by the cis sequences (adn) given in argument for the chosen bacteria.Visit webpage
