Research

Systems Biology, from data analysis over modelling to model analysis as well as the development of system theoretical methodologies.
In particular:
  • Modeling and analysis of signal transduction networks in mammalian cells
    (e.g. TNF-α induced apoptosis)
  • Modeling of the dynamics of the organisms (e.g. sponges or rats)
  • Image processing of fluorensence microscopy images towards quantitative and dynamic concentration measurements
  • Development of parameter estimation methods for biochemical reaction networks
  • Robustness and performance measures for biological systems

Research Group

  • Dirk Fey (PhD student): Development of parameter estimation methods for biochemical reaction networks; Modelling of rat learning in the Morris water maze
  • Laura Trotta (PhD student): Performance criteria and robustness in biological bistable models at the example of the apoptosis process
