- GBIO016: Introduction to Systems Biology (Introduction à la biologie systémique), a module of the Master in Biomedical Engineering and the Master in Bio-informatics and Modelling
Research
Systems Biology, from data analysis over modelling to model analysis as well as the development of system theoretical methodologies. In particular:
- Modeling and analysis of signal transduction networks in mammalian
cells
(e.g. TNF-α induced apoptosis) - Modeling of the dynamics of the organisms (e.g. sponges or rats)
- Image processing of fluorensence microscopy images towards quantitative and dynamic concentration measurements
- Development of parameter estimation methods for biochemical reaction networks
- Robustness and performance measures for biological systems
Research Group
- Laura Trotta (PhD student): Performance criteria and robustness in biological bistable models at the example of the apoptosis process
- Monica Schliemann: Quantitative experiments and modelling of TNF induced pro- and anti-apoptotic signalling
Collaborators
- Paul Murray, Steve Marshall: Automatic detection and tracking of cells in microscopy data
- Jörg Hammel, Michael Nickel: Quantitative analysis of μ-tomography images of sponges
- Seán Commins: Modelling of rat learning
