- TITLE: Continuous-time subspace flows related to the symmetric
eigenproblem
- AUTHORS: P.-A. Absil, R. Mahony, R. Sepulchre.
- ABSTRACT:
The sets of continuous-time flows on $\rr^{n\times p}$ that induce
the same unique flow on the set of $p$-dimensional subspaces of
$\rr^n$ are described. A particular case, the power flow, is
succinctly reviewed in this framework. A new subspace flow,
called the Grassmann Rayleigh quotient flow, is proposed. It is
a multidimensional generalization of the recently proposed Rayleigh
quotient flow and it displays a property of deflation in finite time.
