Conference location


The conference will take place at the Academic Room of the University of Liège, place du 20 Aout, 7, 4000 Liège, Belgium. The venue is located in the heart of the city, near Christmas markets and other tourist interests. Liège is a thousand-year-old city with a historical centre and numerous monuments, churches and museums. Liège is located one hundred kilometers east of Brussels.

By plane


Brussels National Airport is in Zaventem and can be reached by car from Liège in 45 minutes. There are also frequent trains connecting Zaventem and Liège (Zaventem to Leuven, then Liège-Guillemins, or Zaventem to Brussels North, then Liège-Guillemins. By car


A very complete road and motorway network (E40, E25, E42, E313) makes getting to Liege by car easy. Follow signs indicating "Liège centre" and "Université de Liège, XX août" to reach the conference building.

Finding a parking place in the street is very difficult and you have to pay everywhere. There are however several public parkings close to the conference venue (see here).


By train


Liège city has one main train station, Liege Guillemins. Right in the centre of the strategic London-Paris-Berlin triangle, TGV, Thalys and ICE trains now travel 8 times a day to France and up to 10 times a day to Germany, without forgetting the various possible daily connections with London when taking the Eurostar from Brussels.

Getting from the railway station to the conference site

The easiest is to go by bus.

Two bus lines stop directly at "Place du XX Aout" (the conference site). You can take bus number 2 or number 3 from the station to stop "Place du XX Aout". The journey is 10 to 15 minutes.

Other bus lines stop at "Boulevard d'Avroy" which is a 5-minute walk from the conference site. You can take these bus lines from the station: 25, 64, 65, 65, 377, 1, 4, 30, 48, 90, 94 (the strike-throughs are significant). Timetables are available from the TEC website.

You can also take a taxi from the station to the conference centre (3 kilometres).
